One evening, while Abby was watching TV in the living room, she heard the back door of her parents’ house slam shut with a loud noise. At first, she didn’t think much of it.
Her father occasionally went outside to fetch more firewood, and when his hands were full, he would give the door a kick with his foot. So, it wasn’t unusual for the door to make a noise.
