She pretended to be asleep until her clock read 12:00 midnight. Now, silently, Abby walked to her parents’ room. She slowly opened the door and approached her father’s side of the bed.
But to her surprise, she only saw her mother sleeping. That probably meant her father fell asleep in front of the television, so she quietly went downstairs.
