Her mother gasped, and Abby stood frozen in shock. Her eyes widened in disbelief. Suddenly, Abby screamed and ran towards her father with tears in her eyes. “Thank you, Dad! Thank you so much!” Abby’s father sighed and embraced his daughter tightly. “You ruined your own birthday surprise, you little monster.”
Abby’s mother smiled at her husband. “I had no idea you were building her first bicycle. And in her favorite color too!” She wrapped her arms around her husband and kissed him on the cheek. “Shall we go back to bed now?” she said to Abby, finally releasing her father.
