She heard the sound of her father, busy halfway through the yard, so he didn’t hide that he was there. But when she reached the shed, she noticed that he had hung garbage bags in front of the windows.
All she could see were shadows, making it impossible for her to take a peek inside. She listened silently, hoping to hear what her father was doing. Maybe she could make sense of the noise.
