Remaining On Alert:
Initially, the locals were on high alert whenever Romeo came to the park. They feared that one day the wolf might attack them or their pets. Everyone walked on eggshells when the wolf came to play. However, they quickly got used to his presence. They saw that Romeo was very gentle when playing with the dogs, despite his imposing stature.
It was clear that this large creature was having a blast. Most of the dogs were regulars at Mendenhall Glacier Park who had easily adapted to the black wolf. It seemed that Romeo had been separated from his pack and was in search of a new one. That explained why he was eager to make new friends.
