One of the Mustangs looked different from the other horses, not only to Erica but also to their daughter. It had special eyes. They were piercing blue. The horse stood there motionless, staring towards the stable door.

An employee of the farm approached them and explained that they had just taken in this horse and it was still getting used to the surroundings. The horse had no documents, no chip, and had been rescued from poor conditions.

An exception

Normally, the farm would take care of verifying the identity and health of the animal, but since it was a small village, they could leave it to the new owners. Eric and Billy looked at each other – would they really take on this project?
