US President Donald Trump expressed hope that tensions will ease after the exchange of blows between Delhi and Islamabad
An explosion rocked the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore this morning, local GEO television and an eyewitness quoted by Reuters reported, BTA reported.
This comes a day after India carried out strikes in several places in Pakistan, which raised fears that the confrontation between the two nuclear powers could escalate into a more serious military conflict.

Separately, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed efforts to calm the situation in a telephone conversation with his Saudi counterpart yesterday, the State Department announced.
India is a partner of Washington, and Pakistan – an ally.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer also called on Delhi and Islamabad to calm the situation, PA Media and DPA reported.
In central London, about 50 people gathered for a protest in support of Pakistan in front of the Indian embassy.
The Muslim Council of Britain expressed concern that the tension between the two Asian countries could spill over into the Indian and Pakistani communities in the United Kingdom.
Former British Prime Minister of Indian origin Rishi Sunak supported India’s right to respond after the terrorist attack, which it blamed on Pakistan and for which it struck the neighboring country. Asked to comment on whether Starmer shared his predecessor’s position, a Downing Street spokesman said the prime minister believed that London should continue dialogue with both countries.
