Apple has released iOS 26.4.1, but some iPhone users are reporting installation problems, with devices becoming stuck in an endless loading loop and locking up.
The messaging platform Telegram, which published the update notice, stressed that the issue is not related to Telegram being installed on affected devices.
Apple’s official website has published a support article on the matter. It states that “all apps are sandboxed, which limits their access to files stored by other apps and prevents them from making changes to the device.”
It adds that “system files and resources are also separated from user apps. The entire operating system partition is mounted as read-only. APIs prevent apps from extending their permissions to modify other apps or the iOS system itself.”
Apple has not yet issued a separate statement on the installation bug.
