Slowly, Melissa regained her confidence and started visiting Target regularly again. She even struck up conversations with the employees in the store. Deep down, however, she knew that she was still hiding a secret from them.
One day, the alarm went off again! As expected, a security guard quickly arrived to resolve the issue. Melissa stood there and smiled, knowing that nothing would happen. Then the security guard gave her a key to the alarm system – in case she ever triggered the alarm again.
Melissa couldn’t believe how much respect she was now receiving. A huge burden had been lifted off her shoulders. She left Target that day knowing that her secret was now absolutely safe.
