The Eerie Corridors of the Ship
It was definitely not an ordinary day for the team of scientists in the desert. Leader Arthur had noticed something astonishing during a drone inspection: a ship in the middle of the desert. Arthur and his team rushed to the location and, once there, entered to examine it closely.
Once inside, Arthur couldn’t help but shudder at the sight of the ship’s appearance. He had never seen anything like it. Finding a ship in the desert was already bizarre, but the leader could never have imagined what he was about to discover.
Barricaded Doors
As Arthur walked through the corridors, he noticed that every door was barricaded. It was rather strange because why would one need to barricade all the doors on a ship? The scientist couldn’t fathom the intention behind this. Perhaps something dangerous lurked behind those doors? Arthur focused on one specific door – a large one barricaded with heavy steel pipes.
A large sign plastered on it depicted a skull and read: “Do Not Enter. Danger.” Arthur had never seen anything like it before, but as a researcher, his curiosity was piqued by what might be inside. He needed the help of his colleagues to open this door.
Arthur Meets His Team
When Arthur found his team, they informed him that they had also noticed strange things on the ship. Everywhere they had been, they were greeted by a sinister atmosphere. Some scientists even claimed to have heard noise coming from certain rooms. Everyone laughed it off, as it was deemed impossible for anyone to live aboard. Or was it? Arthur had so many questions that needed answers.
“But first, guys, I need to tell you something. Something important… Well, I’ll show you the room that I just found. There was this barricaded door, and I saw a skull on it. But what’s even more bizarre is that there was a faint light filtering through the bottom. We have to find out what it is. Shall we go?!”
Here It Is!!
It was a large ship, and it took nearly an hour to wander before finally locating the door in question. Once they arrived, the scientists agreed that this door seemed to conceal something significant. But then, something strange happened… They heard a deep sound coming from behind the door.
Everyone clearly heard it. When Arthur looked at his team, he saw horror in their eyes. Everyone backed away from the door, driven by fear. But Arthur didn’t move.
Is Someone There?!
Arthur believed that someone was in the room. It was very strange because it was evident that the ship had been stationed there for decades. Nevertheless, he had to try and began shouting, “Is someone there?!” He repeated the question several times but received no response.
Just as Arthur was about to ask the question one last time, he heard another noise from the other side of the door. He couldn’t resist anymore and needed to know what was hidden inside. The decision was then made to force the door open.
In Search of Tools
Arthur attempted to kick down the door with all his strength. “BANG, BANG, BANG.” Then, another researcher joined him. “BANG, BANG, BANG.” Unfortunately, despite their efforts, they couldn’t break through the obstacle. They needed a tool to open such a large door. Arthur rushed through all the open rooms to find something useful in this situation.
Thirty minutes later, he finally found what he was looking for: Arthur spotted a crowbar lying in a corner, immediately realizing that it would help him open the door. He grabbed the tool and called his team to announce that he had found a crowbar. Everyone could stop searching, and it was time to return to the door. Arthur hurried, filled with excitement.
Attempt #2
With all his might, Arthur used the crowbar as a lever, pressing it against the door… but it had no effect. Then, suddenly, they heard the noise again. What on earth was behind that door? Arthur was determined to solve this mystery. They would have to go back to their campsite to retrieve more tools.
The scientist could sense the importance of what was in that room. To avoid getting lost on their way back, Arthur and his team decided to mark the corridors leading back to the helicopter.
Discussing What’s Inside the Room
During the flight, Arthur and his team discussed the nature of what lay behind the large door. As it was surely not small in size, several people speculated that it might be a human being. However, if that were the case, this person had decided not to respond to their questions. Others thought it could be a creature that no one had ever seen before.
Upon their arrival at the campsite, everyone quickly disembarked from the helicopter and headed to the workstation where they could retrieve electric saws and flexible claws that would be very useful in forcing open this thick door. They found everything they needed and promptly returned to the helicopter.
An Apprehensive Pilot
Once back near the helicopter, the pilot seemed surprised to see them. He said, “I’m not going to take off anymore. It’s too late and therefore too dangerous.” Arthur couldn’t accept that; he was convinced he had made the discovery of the century. They had to leave immediately?! The scientist tried to convince the pilot with every possible argument, but unfortunately, he didn’t budge an inch.
It was too dangerous to fly at this hour in the middle of the desert. The pilot wasn’t going to risk his life for that. Arthur understood his decision and accepted the idea that they could leave the next morning at 6:00. But no later than that?!
Arthur Can’t Sleep
Arthur lay in bed but couldn’t fall asleep. The door was ingrained in his memory, and he couldn’t think of anything else. Perhaps there were already articles about the ship that he could find on the Internet. Arthur grabbed his computer and began his search online. He went through the links talking about abandoned ships in the desert that had gone missing.
Time passed quickly as an hour later, he was still engrossed in his search. Then, suddenly, he finally found something interesting. Someone had written a paper about a certain wreck.
The Renowned Researcher James
A renowned researcher that Arthur knew, named James, mentioned something about a ship in the desert that was exactly where Arthur was currently located. Unfortunately, a large portion of the content had been censored, leaving little to read. However, Arthur had his own connections in the research world. “It’s time to make a few phone calls,” thought the scientist.
Arthur called a good colleague of his with whom he had made several discoveries. It turned out that he had James’ phone number. Arthur was full of energy. He was going to be able to call this man who had also been on that ghost ship. He dialed the number, and yes, the phone rang. After a few seconds, he heard a voice: “Hello, who is this?!”
Explaining the Situation
Arthur explained to James why he was calling. He explained that he had discovered the ship and that sounds had been heard in one of the rooms. Arthur noticed that James was acting a bit strange and paranoid. He didn’t speak like the famous scientist Arthur had seen in interviews. James told Arthur that he must not return.
That it would haunt him forever and destroy his life. He also asked Arthur to promise him to completely forget about the ship. Arthur was very surprised by the strange turn of the conversation and asked why he shouldn’t revisit the ship…
What to Do??
Then James said, “This ship is haunted. I can’t say more. It has completely turned my life upside down. I’m in a care facility right now. Just promise me not to go back. I have to hang up. Goodbye!!” Arthur felt very strange after this conversation, but also a little scared by the revelations James had made. What was he supposed to do?? He decided not to consider the advice he had just received.
The next morning, he was going to return to the ship and find out what was in that room?! Arthur woke up before his alarm clock even went off. He went to the cafeteria where his colleagues were already having breakfast. One of them asked Arthur if he had done any additional research on the ship. Well, did you or not, Arthur??
Telling the Truth??
Arthur began to think intensely but decided to keep his phone conversation a secret. He simply replied with a no and added that he hadn’t found anything new. Just a scientist mentioning something on the internet, but it was all censored and revealed nothing interesting. Everyone believed his lie. After breakfast, the team prepared for the expedition.
An hour of flying later, they finally arrived at the shipwreck site. They knew they were ready this time because with these tools, they would surely be able to force open that door. Everyone was excited to discover the contents of the mysterious room.
Something’s Different from Last Time
As Arthur and his team walked through the corridors, they looked at each other and were shocked by the appearance of the ship. They all noticed that there was something different from their last visit… Some doors that were barricaded the day before were no longer barricaded today.
It was very strange because, obviously, they certainly hadn’t “unbarricaded” themselves. Someone must be behind all this, but who? Arthur felt chills running through his body. And when he looked at his colleagues, he could clearly see fear in their eyes.
Guys, We Must Continue
However, Arthur was persistent when it came to this ship and he said, “We can become famous, guys. This could be the discovery of the century, and we could be known as the famous explorers who discovered the most bizarre thing in recent years. We must continue!!”
It took a moment, but eventually, everyone agreed that they should continue. Towards the door they went. Arthur had made markings in the corridors to know exactly where it was located. And upon their arrival, he saw that the door was still barricaded.
Almost…
The team immediately sprang into action with the right tools in order to finally break down that door?! They started drilling… Then, a loud noise reverberated. The researchers jumped, but remained determined to uncover what was hiding behind the door. So, they kept digging.
The noise didn’t stop, as they could still hear it. It seemed like something or someone was doing everything possible to prevent them from opening the door. No one was intimidated by the noise anymore. They were almost there… just a few more centimeters.
The door finally opens
Then, finally, after difficult drilling work, the door finally fell. Arthur approached the room slowly and turned on his flashlight to observe the interior. Suddenly, a large figure ran out, fleeing. “What was that??” Arthur thought. But there was no time to waste: he began to chase after the fleeing shadow.
He saw that behind the door were more corridors… which was strange because he thought it was just one room. But he could clearly make out something running at full speed. So, he pursued…
Arthur was in shock…
As Arthur got closer, he finally got a closer look at the thing. It looked like a person. So, Arthur shouted, “Stop, Stop, Stop.” But he or she didn’t listen and continued to run. Arthur decided to invest all his energy and ran as fast as he could. He was getting closer and closer, and finally, he was able to jump on the individual. The person resisted violently, and Arthur could smell a horrible odor emanating from the stranger.
He took control of the situation, and when he turned around to see their face, Arthur was in shock… It was the scientist who had talked about the ship on the internet. Arthur was confused about his presence on board the ship. The internet post was from a few years ago… did that mean he had spent all these years on the ship??
The End
The researcher, James, was in love with this ghost ship and had decided not to return to civilization. Arthur asked him to come back with him, but James really didn’t want to do that. He also asked that nothing be revealed to the public.
Arthur decided to respect his request and agreed not to talk about it to anyone. He left the ship with his team. Of course, they were all very disappointed that they hadn’t made the discovery of the century or of their lives…
