Mass Rallies Against the US Organized in North Korea Seoul – On the 73rd anniversary of the start of the Korean War, North Korea mobilized tens of thousands of people for mass rallies against the United States. According to the state-controlled media of the authoritarian regime, over 120,000 workers, youth, and students participated in the events held at various locations in the capital, Pyongyang.

North Korea Marks 73rd Anniversary of Korean War with Mass Rallies Against the US On the 25th of June, 1950, the Korean War began with the invasion of South Korea by North Korean forces. South Korea was supported by United Nations troops led by the United States. The combat ceased three years later with an armistice agreement. Legally, the Korean Peninsula remains in a state of war as no peace treaty has been signed to this day.

Accusations Against the US During Mass Rallies in North Korea According to reports, speakers at the Pyongyang events emphasized that North Koreans would never forget June 25, 1950. Their “wounds of resentment” could never heal. The US was accused of provoking the war. “Participants marched and chanted slogans calling for the destruction of the US imperialists and their group of traitors.” Images showed participants raising a clenched fist in a defiant manner during a rally in a large stadium.
