A Splash of Surprise
Everyone applauded and cheered for Mike. They were already preparing to get into their car and finally head home when they heard a loud splash. The friends quickly turned around, afraid to see Mike submerged under the ice again. To their surprise, Mike had indeed disappeared, but not for the expected reason. He had watched his friends turn around and walk away so that he could take an action that no one else would have accepted.
While underwater, Mike had noticed something beneath the crocodile and he knew his friends would try to stop him from jumping into the icy water. Mike was well aware of the risks, but he was determined to discover what the mysterious object was.
